the range rover is unreliable, im from australia and have done outback trips, you need something reliable and many wont trust a range rover in the middle of nothing. I have a toyota hilux for that purpose. BTW in australia Range Rovers are only driven by upper class wankers and never see a dirt road let alone the outback. (new ones that is)

This volvo is as far from a normal, wellbuilt, everlasting swedish machine as you can get. It in fact has a Renault built engine, and the steel came from productions in the Netherlands. There in fact is nothing about it thats Volvo. Volvo’s are quality cars.

Over 100 000 km, it’s just that some parts get outweared by then. No difference with eg my Honda. Endless reliable, but at around 90 000 km it needed some new brakes and ofcours a new belt. And at 110 000 km I had a small cooling problem.
Time and use have an effect on cars, even on the very best. As so is it with the German Mercs.

Sorry, but saying that 99 of 100 never go wrong is… wrong.
Sure if you own it for 1000km, but when you go +100000km you are bound to run into a lot of problems. And repairs are costly as hell
