Honda’s Hydrogen Powered Sports Car

Green was the theme at the LA Auto Show as car manufacturers revealed a whole new line of hybrid, electric, and fuel efficient new cars… but none of them were as stylish as Hondas’s FC Sport Concept Car. The futuristic sports car is a hydrogen powered, zero emission fuel cell supercar. The three seater is lightweight with a low center of gravity and features a powerful electric motor that helps it deliver supercar performance. The eye catching, futuristic design of the car is meant to excite fans of sports cars, not just eco friendly motorists, and its a glimpse at what car design might look like in a post gas engine world. Honda’s FC Sport is only a concept car, and there are currently no plans to enter this zero emission design study model into actual production anytime soon. But the fact that Honda could imagine such a fast, sexy, and green zero emissions hydrogen vehicle means it shouldn’t be long before all the major car companies start building similar vehicles. Hydrogen is just …
Hydrogen is just stupid… it is a stupid excuse to delay the arrival of electric cars.

there is absolutely no reason to use hydrogen… where the hydrogen will come from? use electricity? then why lose electricity in that conversion and not use it directly? Idiotic!!!!

I prefer much more the biofuels who are a preferable intermi solution or parallel solution to electric cars….

    I sorry honda fans …
I sorry honda fans and my japanese friends, but I think that full electric will be the way of the future. a true eco friendly car is no gas, no chemical (except lead acid batteries), and fully electric will be the way in the future.

  4. tailblaze08 says:

    haha. I think that …
haha. I think that it’s better to just put a 500lb hydrogen bomb in that honda and launch it in Japan like in the old days. I thought them Japanese learned their lesson not to mess with hydrogen anymore. it’s a very nice design, but I see countless mistakes on this system. Sure it’s eco friendly, but who wants to store hydrogen? would you like to store hydrogen in your homes? what happens when there’s a leak and sparks? who’s going to kill the fire from the fir truck?

@myleftnutts your retarded, slaves to the system? hmm would you rather live in communist country and be a slave to the gov’t with no opportunity for betterment? people like you should go to Russia or china for a year might make you realize how lucky you are.

@LordBLB I will make u one. I am working on hydrogen powered heavy vehicles at Purdue research park.

    For some reason Ive …
For some reason Ive never done the math before today but when you take in all the factors including exchange and cost of living and such, fuel here in Canada calculates out to be only about 15p a liter cheaper. That’s not really that much. In fact, years back when I first moved to Bristol I remember expecting the price to be massively inflated but didn’t really notice the change much. In America however petrol is foolishly cheap in comparison. I cant believe that they complain about fuel costs.

    Screw these ‘ …
Screw these ‘super-cars’ they keep making eco-friendly. I want to see an eco-friendly TRUCK. I have to have a 4×4 Truck for my work and my home. I haul tons of all the time. It’s great they’re making these eco-friendly cars and all, but until they make some heavy duty vehicles for hauling and stuff, Americans won’t buy it.

    maybe if you lot …
maybe if you lot over the pond would stop driving everywhere in a 5 litre V8 weighing as much as the bismark, you’d get better mpg, the otherway is to pay $20 odd dollars a gallon like europe, that’d make you drive something sensible.

  13. ezname1234 says:

    yup, too many job …
yup, too many job layoffs, just like when the general motors almost went out of business the govt will save their ass. cause its not only on cars, everything else that runs on gas will be converted into these type of engines. home heater, lawn mower, even the electric generators that runs on gas. and when that happens Con Edison will run out of business (i imagine using the hydrogen engine will be cheaper.) there is too big of an economic impact. there is a car that runs on water too

  14. myleftnutts says:

    the corporate …
the corporate is very simple,Art they own u from the cradle to the grave, the only reason for your pathetic existence as a useless eater,is to produce “Profit” for the stockholders, and then u die, after that your children, take your place as corporate slaves, aint democracy cool???.

  15. myleftnutts says:

    would that “Really” …
would that “Really” be a problem if the oil corporations wen’t out of business overnite???.

  16. ezname1234 says:

    i think they can …
i think they can but the government isnt allowing them yet cause then everyone will get one of these and the oil company will go out of business in almost over night. then the american economy will crash…. again

    Certain features of …
Certain features of a concept car are brought into full production rather than the whole car which is why there are smaller car companies that can go all the way.

Usually it’s not up to todays standards in safety and all that jazz. I think it’s to show they’re working pretty hard, just trying to put all those concepts into one car…

  21. art33556677 says:

    I don’t know what …
I don’t know what is the point of calling a car a “concept car”…obviously it’s in the market it will sell a million, so why they they don’t make their life and our life easier and just produce whatever they call concept car…since they produced one, then produce 1000…I don’t get this corporate shit

  22. sunofseptember says:

    @johnnyht2007 : …
@johnnyht2007 : most of the Hondas are designed by Pininfarina and other italian designers. The Citroen GT’s designer is… Takumi Yamamoto, a japanese !

  23. fireman59000 says:

    maybe you should …
maybe you should take time to do research before you comment… the combustion of hydrogen and oxygen makes water okay? well the combustion process also creates a massive amount of electricity. so technically it is electric powered

  24. 07markh says:

    The car she’s …
The car she’s talking about is hydrogen fuel cell. Rather than burning the hydrogen in a combustion engine, the fuel cell generates electricity, which then powers the motor.
