Whats going to happen to the fields of new cars sitting doing nothing?

all these car manufacturers have stopped production because no one is buying cars… they have huge stock piles of brand new cars, sitting in huge fields, doing nothing but depreciate

will they be sold for dirty cheap?
will they be scrapped/recycled?
yeah this bail out plan is a load of bull… the government spend money like its a drugged up alcoholic teen…

My view on this is that the cars are sitting in an outdoor enviroment just rusting ! sort of puts the rustproof warranties out the door !

as old cars get trashed, the people will then buy new cars from the fields.

i suppose that means the CEOs of the car companies are also writing themselves big checks with tax paid bail out money

You would think that they would want to shift them wouldnt you ? – But they would rather scrap them that offer them to us at a discount… its a Shame these poor people will probably end up out of a job…. but I would chase these foreign car manufacturers out of the country – they have been bleeding the tax payer dry in subsidies…and churning out over priced cars.

Give them away…? no they will not do that, but will leave them for years, until the market picks up, or they may strip them down, and recycle them…..

rust will attack them and they will rot. but its ok because gordon will bail out the car companies so they can build some more to go rusty and rot.

Maybe they should drastically drop the prices on the cars…..thats a thought. Automakers, just like banks that own foreclosed properties, would rather have the asset sit there and grow rust then take a loss on it.

Ill tell you what if someone wants to sell me a new car for under 5k, Im on it.

    Whatever.
Isn’t it good for the environment though?
Imagine how much MORE carbon dioxide would be pumped into the atmosphere if they were all being used !
This economic collapse is also perhaps a godsend for our climate.
The worlds power stations must be running on go-slow ‘cos no steel plants are operating, same with the car industry and many other high energy users.

Looks to me like the planet is taking a couple of years holiday, away from our mass-polution.

You know, I was asking myself that very question just a while ago while I busted ass to get out 700+ parts per shift, one part to a Malibu. Now, where are those Malibus, and who’s going to buy them? Not me. I’m laid off.

They’ll all go into the crusher.

They sell them in bulk to other new car retailers at the end of a sale peroid and they sell them. everyone wins manufactures sell there cars, retailers make profit and buyers save money
